Victor Calegare at his desk in Porto

Victor Calegare

International lawyer · Immigration & corporate · Porto

I became a lawyer in Brazil sixteen years ago, and a Portuguese one when I understood that my clients' lives no longer fit inside one country. Today I work from Porto with companies, investors and families who are building something on both sides of the Atlantic.

Immigration and corporate law look like two practices. In my experience they're one problem: a business can't open without its people, and people can't settle without work. Being admitted in both countries means I can hold the whole picture, and that you're never handed off to "a colleague in Lisbon" or "a partner firm in São Paulo".

What clients tell me they value: a straight answer in the first call, a written plan with a fixed fee, and a lawyer who picks up the phone when AIMA doesn't.

How I work

Plain answers. Written plans. One point of contact.

You'll always know what happens next, what it costs and who is doing it. I keep a small practice on purpose so that every file gets my own attention, from the first call to the day the card, or the company registration, arrives.
