How long does a Portuguese residence permit take?
It depends on the route and on AIMA's current backlog. Visa-based routes typically take 3–8 months from a complete file to the residence card. I give you a realistic timeline in writing before we start, and update it whenever the authorities change pace.
Can you act for me in Brazil and in Portugal at the same time?
Yes. I am admitted to the Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil (OAB 165.325) and the Ordem dos Advogados in Portugal (OA 60.508P), so the same lawyer handles both sides of a cross-border matter.
Do I need to be in Portugal to start?
No. Most files are prepared remotely. Some routes require a visa application at the consulate in your country of residence; others allow you to apply from within Portugal. We choose the one that fits your calendar.
How do you charge?
A fixed fee per matter wherever possible, agreed in writing after the first call. Government fees and translations are itemised separately. Ongoing corporate counsel is available on a monthly retainer.
Which languages do you work in?
Portuguese, English and French. Documents are handled in their original language and certified translations are arranged when the authorities require them.
What happens in the first call?
Thirty minutes, free of charge. You describe your situation and your goal; I tell you which routes are realistic, what they cost and how long they take. If I'm not the right lawyer for it, I'll say so.
